Engr. Sir Tony O. Nammor was born in the year 1971. He commenced his early
education at Sacred Heart Nursery and Private School, Ibadan- OYO State and Command Children School Ikeja, Lagos State from
1977 – 1982. He then proceeded to Command Day Secondary School Ikeja, Lagos
for post primary education from 1982 – 1987. On completion of his West African School Certificate, he was admitted to
both the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) and University of Maidugury but opted to attend UNIMAID as opposed to following in his father's foot-step
of becoming a soldier at the defense academy.
“English Man” as he is called in college, served on the student union of the university and also took interest
in freelance journalism. As a writer with no formal training in journalism, he was able to pioneer the campus magazine and
served as the editor to the Satellite Newspaper the only informative student correspondence at that time. Within the course
of his career he continued to write for various News Media on their editorials commentary as a freelance writer even
after leaving for overseas.
Member of Royal Geographic Society UK, Member - Royal Society of Environmental
Engineers (England), Member- American Solar Energy Society (ASE), Member- North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners
(NABCEP). Tony Nammor holds various positions in both the public and private sectors in Nigeria and abroad to include, consulting engineer with Maryland State Highway
Administration-USA and Board member, Omni Solar Group Nigeria Limited.
On the international circuit, he serves on the UNITED NATIONS Volunteer
Service Commission (UNVC) as a coordinator for United Nations Development Programs online. A frontline advocate for the
development of African Engineers Without Boarders (AEWB), a voluntary – non profit outfit which tends to bring African
professional engineers together for networking and service to humanity.
Currently, Engineer Nammor sits on the board of directors of OMNI Solar
Group of Companies (OSG) USA as the Founder
and Chief Executive Officer. A company he started as a sole proprietor and has grown into four subsidiaries with branches
in UK and Nigeria. Co-Owner and Founder of African Television Inc (AFRIK T.V) and Executive Director
for Business Development & Strategic Planning of G8 – Consortium Inc. USA.
He is a Coordinator for the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) Washington
DC Chapter, President Nigerian Military Secondary School Alumni USA and member National Association for Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
He served in Nigeria
at the Federal Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning Jos, Plateau
State in the department of Lands, Survey & planning in 1990
before leaving the country for further studies.
In the United States of America, he received an Achievement Award (Classified), from the United States Department of Defense (DOD) on Homeland Security for actively
participating in the co-ordination, training and deployment of Federal Security Forces involved in securing the nations
airports and seaports after September 11, 2001 (9/11) terrorist attack. He also has to his portfolio engineering designs on
Aviation Safety presently being proposed to the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and has written a couple of academic
and literary books to include “ Life, Experiences and Inspirations”. A book he wrote on human life experiences
taking into account his personal experience.
He is the Founder and Chief
Executive Officer of OMNI – Water Company Nigeria Limited a subsidiary of OMNI Solar Group – USA.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Bsc) from University of Maidugury, Post
graduate Diploma in Planning from University College London (UK) and Master of Science (Msc) degree in Civil- Environmental
Engineering from Virginia Institute of Science and Technology (Virginia Tech) USA. He
also has certificates of completion in various International leadership and management programs at home and abroad.
A seasoned Politician involve in the development and planning of Nigerian
Political Scheme and involved with other progressive organizations for the advancement of the Nigerian people to include
serving as the Director of Communication and Trustee of Nigerian Policy Council - USA ( NIPOC ).
He served as the financial secretary Anioma Association, USA , Inc(
Washington DC Branch) and Pioneer General Secretary Aniocha Progressive Union , USA.
His hobbies include travelling and networking. An advid sportsman with
special interest in Lawn tennis, soccer and swimming. Tony is a member of United States Tennis Association (USTA) and has
traveled to many nations across the globe.
He speaks all three major Nigerian languages fluently ( Ibo, Yoruba and
Hausa) and an officer of the Catholic Knight of Columbus.
A native of Umolo in Ezi, Aniocha North LG area of Delta State, Nigeria. He is happily married.
